Agora is the culmination of its founders’ – Pia & Cheryl – unfulfilled passions to move and dance as children. As adults, they sought to reconnect with this passion and discovered in aerial a culture that made them feel at home. Pia opened Agora in 2013 and Cheryl joined her as the director of the aerial program a couple of years after. Agora’s mission is to create supportive space for people of any fitness or experience level to pursue their interest in aerial and form a community. Come fly with us!
What Is Aerial?
Aerial is at the intersection of gymnastics, dance, and acrobatics. Practitioners of aerial (or aerialists) perform on a variety of apparatuses in the air like the aerial silk, for example. Doing aerial is a form of fitness training, as in the process of learning it instructors help you build flexibility and strength to do moves. It is also a form of art, as seen at Cirque du Soleil shows, our Agora student showcases, and more!
Why Join Us?
Agora prides itself in its community – children and adults alike find mentors and friends in our instructors. We have also fostered a strong culture of supportiveness in our community – it’s a normal occurrence to have fellow students cheer you on as you learn your first moves on the silk! We also pride ourselves on our high quality of instruction. We maintain our teacher to student ratio high so that you can get all the focus you need.
